JBL SCL-5 Overview

The SCL-5 is the highest-performance traditional round in-ceiling model in the JBL Synthesis Custom Loudspeaker (SCL) series. It is designed for use as a height channel or in-ceiling LCR or surround channel loudspeaker. The SCL-5 features JBL’s patented 2409H 1-inch (25mm) compression driver mated to an offset High Definition Imaging (HDI™) horn. This patented horn design is integrated with an angled 7-inch (180mm) Advanced Aluminum Matrix cone cast-frame woofer operating behind an acoustic aperture waveguide. The innovative configuration yields incredibly smooth and consistent performance for off-axis placement up to 60 degrees from the listening position. The SCL-5 is acoustically designed to match any of the JBL Synthesis Custom Loudspeakers (SCL series) as part of a complete JBL Synthesis immersive audio solution. It is ideal for use in medium to large rooms.

The aptX HD Bluetooth streamer is the perfect addition to your home theater system or for music playback from Bluetooth-enabled devices such as smartphones and tablets. It also includes a switchable phono stage analog output for hooking up to your classic component Hi-Fi or directly to a pair of active speakers.

The SCL-5 features a 3000mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery that provides up to 12 hours of continuous, high-quality audio playtime. Powered by JBL Connect+ technology, the SCL-5 connects to more than 100 other JBL Connect+-enabled speakers in your home for a seamless, immersive audio experience.

The revolutionary JBL Image Control Waveguide is a patented innovation that was originally developed for the flagship M2 Master Reference Monitor. It ensures a seamless transition between the low- and high-frequency transducers to deliver a wide sweet spot, an immersive soundstage, and precise imaging.
